Using the facility

The confocal microscopy core facility is supported by Tipp-täpp and there is no charge to individual users for confocal time. The facility is also open to external users, however, to them charges (link) for microscope usage are applied.  To register for booking and request training please follow the instructions below.

The facility microscopes may only be used by those who have been trained by facility staff. Users who can demonstrate previous experience with similar microscopes may not need full training (at the discretion of facility staff) but will still need to be shown procedures and have the rules of use of the facility explained. Inexperienced users must work during normal hours (8 am to 6 pm) until they are fully trained to work independently on the microscopes.
