Use of the confocal microscope core facility is by appointment only. Reservations for the microscopes can be made only through the internal booking system.

• If you are first time user contact core facility to discuss your experiment. You need to meet us to discuss your specific project and facility procedures (fill web form below). 
• Take a training on the system you are interested to use of. Please attend our online course of confocal microscopy and read the manual. We provide the practical training either during the annual hands-on course or if you are already experienced user then when you come first time with your samples. 
• Design your experiment. Select the appropriate fluorophores for your specific system. Decide on the proper fixation or the necessity for live cell imaging. Prepare samples using an appropriate technique (e.g., mounting media, substrate, coverslips, glass bottom dishes)
• Check the facility appointment calendars and book the microscope. Access the Web calendars for Olympus FV1200MPE ​or check the in-house appointment calendars for Zeiss LSM microscopes for available times. Make an appointment to use the facility microscope. If you are more than 30 minutes late during high use periods, your time slot may be assigned to another user. Inexperienced users must work during normal hours (9 am to 6 pm) until they are fully trained to work independently on the microscopes.
• Booking and Cancellation. If you are external user ten please contact our staff (see web form below), if internal please use the core facility calendars.  It is important to cancel your reservation if you don't need the time, somebody may urgently need the microscope time or might leave the system on for you.

Data storage. Please don't use the confocal PC as storage space for your data. If necessary then we can provide you storage space in 1TB storage server.
